Im looking for the best supplement for my boy, he got diagnosed with mild COPD last year and had a weeks course of vetipulmin ... he's now on nedz bedz and soaked hay (yard owner wont allow haylage) but i want to make sure i do everything for him .... has anyone got any suggestions ? reccomendations ??

I feed when competing the Equine America one its smell fab my horse the fussist eater gobbles it down and seems to work, and not too expensive

I would strongly recommend Winergy Ventilate. It's not cheap, but it really works. I had a mare who was so bad I thought we might lose her, who once she was on Ventilate, you would barely know she had a problem. I've recommended it to loads of people over the years, and they've had similar success with it. Fab stuff.

You could give Global Herbs a ring, I have used their products with real success to the extent that my mare now has no symptoms at all, and she has been off the supplements for nearly a year (she did have real problems before)

i used the global herbs stuff also, globevite respiratory supplement, it worked wonders for my cob and for my friends warmblood aslo, both have managed really well on it!

Secreta Pro from Equistro.

It's fairly new on the market and not widely heard of yet, but was recommended by my vet after a cours eof ventpulmin back in the summer. it's been fantastic for my old boy.

Got it from vet at about £38.00 a tub which lasts about a month, but have now found it from Pet drugs on-line at £19.00 per tub as it's not prescription only.

Another vote for globl herbs, I use Airways plus for my mare it works well and she likes the taste.

I would also recommend Winergy Ventilate, our horse competes at 4* eventing level on it. Plus Bryonia is good as an extra on occassions

I have found Clairity from Feedmark to be good for clearing the airways. If it is a temporary cough, I have also given benylin cough mixture for a few days.

The Horselyx respiratory lick seemed to get rid of Stinky's cough last year, but beware you do get this:

I have tried the airways plus but am giving the ventilate a go as you do not need to feed so many scoops and also I only feed once a day and lots of the supplements require twice a day feeding. I also thought it might be more palatable.

Pony thinks I trying to poison him with the ventilate so will have to see how it goes as I don't want to add more feed to disguise the taste.

My pony has had two feeds with ventilate in it and now refuses to eat any hard food without or without the supplement - I think there is possibly a taste issue for those with fussy eaters.

Global herbs is similar - so may try one of the others!
