Response expectations from Farrier, dentist, physio

What is reasonable to expect? If, for example, a comp horse pulls a shoe, when would you expect your farrier to reply to your call for help?

Yes. Any Company worth its salt should respond quickly. If your farrier doesn't check his messages, he's either lazy or doesn't care. The business my husbands in, if he didn't reply swiftly to messages he wouldn't have any clients. If your farrier can't be ar.sed, hit him where it hurts and look elsewhere.:)

my farrier is a legend and gets back to me in max of a couple of hours to let me know when he can make it. Dentist has answer phone and normally rings back that evening and I can normally book a yard of ten in within a month or so and physio I can normally get hold of straight away as book through her office and can normally get a appointment in two weeks or so for a routine appointment.

Ring - they pick up the phone, simples.

My farrier was just fantastic. Tim Rooney - South Wales. Nothing was every too much trouble for him.

My farrier is amazing, always busy but he does always answer his phone or will ring straight back. He even answered the phone Christmas Eve when he was in London doing his Christmas shopping and came out afterwards to see to my horse that night. I'm not a complete meany it was more then a lose shoe and was a problem/investigation/foreign body/growth thing he had been treating. It's a line of work where it's expected and to reply as soon as they can even if its just over the phone help or to book you in.

My lovely, reliable farrier, and good friend - Steve Icke, tragically died two weeks ago. I am now in the position of having to find a replacement. I will find it very hard to get someone so reliable as Steve. He would come over the same day if I had a problem. Such a tragedy. I feel so bad for his wife.

My farrier is absoultely brilliant. I know that he is incredibly busy so usually text him if there is an emergency and he will ring back fairly quickly. He will never see me stuck and on the rare occasion I have needed him same day if he can't get there then he sends someone else for a one off job. Dentist...never really had a dental emergency so book him in good time for whenever we want him. Physio is fab and basically same arrangement as farrier

my farrier can be a bit of a nightmare tbh! i phone him and am lucky to get a reply the same week - he is very good though and i trust him but am in a constant debate as to whether to call him or use the farrier YO uses as he will usually appear in a few days when horse throws a shoe

Physio answer machine or if available will speak to you there and then.

I use vet for teeth and likewise easy to get an appointment

Steve was my farrier too, and he will be very sadly missed. I am now with Mike Williams from Total Foot Protection in Bridgehouse. He is really great, give him a try.
