I've just had an e-mail saying that little Dinky was found dead in the horse barn, most likely from a heart attack

There were no signs of any struggle or fight so it seems very quick and peacful.

You know those ponies who are just a wonder with children? He was definitely one of those!
He was going to be rehomed, but we decided to keep him so he could work with our EAL (equine assisted learning) programme.

One of the little boys he helped had anger issues. He was given a headcollar and told to go and choose a pony to work with and put the headcollar on.
He got annoyed quickly when he couldn't sort the headcollar and Dinky ran off.
Few repeats of this and the boy soon learned that it was his anger making Dinky afraid and running off. Once he did it calmly, Dinky behaved perfectly!

He soon became a childs (and adults) favourite, whether being walked on leadrope or ridden.

I don't know how old he was, but certainly not old enough

My shettie died of suspected heart attack last year. He was also a fabulous favourite of adults and kiddies. They're never forgotten. RIP Dinky. xx

God only takes what he need in heaven, so looking at that lovely little pony he obviously needed another angel.
Rest in Peace

Thankyou everyone, much appreciated!

Oh golly I hate seeing posts about RIP - I just know I'm going to get emotional, and your story is, for me, very upsetting as it is always a tragic loss when they go, and his story is wonderful. I feel for you, god bless him, and chin up to you xxxx
