Can anyone explain why BE get results on the web on the evening of the comp. or next day and BD take ages ,last result June 11th.We waited ages for the new website but is it any better and how much of our money did they spend on it.
I would have thought it would be easier to put up a dressage score than an eventing score.

Do you agree?

i am not sure but i think it may be because at BE they have a small group of sec's who work round all the events using the same system, where as with BD each show has its own sec and different system and there are also alot more BD shows at a weekend than BD... this might not be why but i just thought it could be why it takes longer to coordinate..

you're correct - its because each BD venue has its own show secretary and its up to them to get the sheets in which sometimes dosent happen until the following tuesday/wednesday of the competition. Then it all has to be processed at BD HO. But i dont see why it takes so long to process there, i suppose there are more BD comps than BE ones each week.......

my results from 3 june bd are still not on the site , ie almost 4 weeks later

would think they would give organisers at date by which they have to be in , we are expected to get our entries in on time!

There are, on average, nearly 200 days of BD competition per month - around 120 shows running each month when you take into account 2 day shows. BE have only a little over 200 events per year.

Granted the numbers competing are considerably higher at a BE event, but they do have a standard system for input of results. This is something that BD are working towards and very much want to happen as it will make everyone's life easier. However, if venues do not chose to leap into the 21st century and become computerised, then they will have to stick with fax or even snail mail.

Some venues are very tardy indeed in sending in their results. They are supposed to send in within a week at the very most, and the guideline is 48 hours. Once in the office, the aim is to have the results up within 5 working days.

Venues are chased when they don't send in their results, especially at this time of year as it is obviously critical for qualification to the Regionals.
