The vet found the source of pain, it was sidebone. She was given steroids and I've been told a week of box rest and then a follow up.

What are your experiences of this? Will she ever come sound again? (She was 2/10 lame on the soft on the left rein!)

EDIT: This is all I know, I'm going to pick her up tomorrow so will discuss further with the vet.

Our coblet was diagnosed with sidebone 2.5 years ago. Vet and farrier both felt he was not an obvious candidate for it conformation-wise. He is very active and uphill to ride although slightly pigeon toed.
He had some rest and put on Synequin and Danilon. Special pads under front shoes.
He is in regular work and sound and happy on minimal drugs. Vet and us thrilled with his progress.
We have followed their advice, including taking care what sort of surface he rides on.
He won't be doing endurance or jump on hard ground, but can hack and compete dressage.
Good luck with yours.
