The horse is eeking ever closer to retirement, and whilst I'm happy having her on the yard I'm at at the moment I will be moving home to Cambridge in June by which point I suspect it will be time to retire her :( I would therefore prefer her to be on a specialist retirement yard with more land and bigger herds than the normal yards in Cambridge offer. I have heard that there is one in Grantchester run by a lady called Sue Beer but don't have any more information than that. If anyone has any information on the yard in Grantchester I'd be grateful or on any other retirement liveries in the area that's be ace :) Would like it to be as close to Cambs as possible as ideally I'd want to go and visit at least once a week a be able to occasionally mooch her out or something :)
TIA!

Hi, did you find somewhere? I'm in the same situation with my gelding who lives out 24/7 and I need somewhere he can spend the rest of his days. Can you recommend anywhere?

Hi there,

I am currently based near Cambridge and the yard we are on are looking for retirement liveries.

Its a private yard, stunning place, my friend runs it. We are relocating soon and so will be leaving 2 spaces.

If you PM me I can put you in touch with my friend. :)

My old chap has been retired with Henryhorn for years - best decision I ever made for him. It might not exactly be up the road, but your horse will thank you for it. I go and visit mine and he still recognises me - last time I visited (he has been with Henryhorn for 10 years) - he was miles away across the field, I called him and he galloped over, had a cuddle and a carrot or two and then wandered off to be back with the herd. Made my heart glad!!

Thanks Mandy, I visited a few weeks ago, so I probably saw your old bloke. Mine will be arriving next week. I'm slightly nervous about the journey as he hasn't been out of the field for years, and he'll be parting from his friends! Fingers crossed he'll be ok!
