Do any of you have your horses at retirement livery? If so, can you recommend any retirement yards and give me an idea of the cost involved.

Thanks :)

I pay £20 a week and they do everything for him. Dont think they would take any more so I cant reccomend but good luck finding some where.

Thanks Squeak. Does he live out with a herd? That's the kind of thing I'm after. If there's anyone else here who has experience of retirement livery, please get in touch. I'm kinda desperate :(

When the horse is retired and goes somewhere on full livery, usually living out with lots of others. In my case because I want to take on another horse to ride but don;t have the time to look after 2 so would rather find a nice home for the retired one so that I can carry on riding. Works both ways if you can find the right place.

oh right just there were a couple of retired horses at our yard but the owners had other horses there. My friend also has a retired horse and keep it with her working horse so she can see to him everyday. Cant you keep your retired one out where you are? Seems quite sad.

Wish that was an option, would rather that than spending an extra £150 or so a month on having him at a retirement place, but just want the best for him.
