I will *hopefully* soon be on the hunt for a 3.5t horse box. It will have to be second-hand as my budget won't stretch to new prices.
Having had a horrible experience with a horse breaching the breast bar, I am certain that whatever box I buy, it must have a stallion style/full height partition, but I've not found any available like this in the second-hand price range I will be looking at. Adding a weave grill wouldn't be sufficient for this horse, so it will need to be full height AND leave enough length for a 16.2hh horse to stand comfortably on the box (i.e. neck cannot overhang into the space beyond where a breast bar would normally be). Hopefully that makes sense..
Has anybody had an older box (not necessarily totally ancient) converted to have a full height partition and, if so, what was the cost like?
