Underdogs is probably the wrong word but has anyone else noticed that the people doing best for Team GB in the equestrian sports are the ones who probably weren't considered our best hopes for medals
Eventing - everyone was so sure about Mary and William but it was Tina who shone. Similiarly in dressage Laura B got all the press but Emma Hindle is the one keeping our hopes alive and now in the SJ, Ben Maher probably was the last member of the team expected to have a chance of an individual medal!

very true. the Olympics often throws up some slightly weird results though. you only have to look at the top top combinations that haven't won medals in the past in spite of being on brilliant form in the run-up, e.g John Whitaker and Milton, etc etc.

Let's hope Ben can also prove the critics even more wrong!
