Are Swish Equestrian's rugs waterproof? They have a sale on so I was just wondering what other people thought of them, do they keep out the weather in long periods of heavy rain? Also what are their stable rugs like?

Thank you!

really pleased with the ones I have - the no neck 40 t/o and the purple heavyweight with neck. Super rugs, fit well and v helpful customer service. Got both in the sale and am very happy with them. The purple one esp is a wonderful fit!

I have one I bought in the sale to use as a spare but it has fast become my favourite rug - its been waterproof in all the horrendous weather we've had it fits nicely although it sits higher on the neck than normal rugs, I like the fact they have reflective strips on them too :) a big thumbs up from me!

I have a medium weight t/o with removable neck and I love it! Good large tail flap and neck cover that actually covers the neck/chest and hasn't leaked yet!
Was eyeing up their sale, but I have so many rugs I don't even know what I want!

I bought a 100g rug in their sale last winter, and have to say I was totally unimpressed. Every time he wore it, it would be drenched underneath (not sweat, I tested that by putting him into a 200g full neck in same conditions), and the longer I had it for, the worse it got - reached the point where it looked as though there were soap suds or something inside, and took days to dry out each time. However on the plus side, the exterior did seem (as far as I could tell!) to be waterproof LOL!! :-)

WildRider - I had exactly the same thing happen with a lightweight rug I bought last year. It was like soap suds. I thought either the rug was leaking or horse very sweaty but was fine in other rugs. Very strange. Ive not bought another rug of theirs since although I still look at them.

I have a Swish 100g one which does exactly the same!! Whenever my horse wears it, she always has a wet patch on either side of her when I take it off - and it's definitely not sweat - it's really strange as it doesn't seem to have leaked from the outside.

However it's only a small patch and I do like the rug - it's a nice fit and the fact that it's a 1200d outer is always a bonus!

Djlynwood and Holly Hocks, I'm glad it's not just me!!!

djlynwood, I keep looking at them too, they do look really nice, and I have to remind myself of what happened with the last one!

Holly Hocks, mine started off with small patches, but over several weeks progressed to being the entirety of the rug. :(

Love mine... Have the 300g with neck for my boy... Fits him really well, well made...good price... And their customer service is fab :)

I have a 100g no neck turnout, my horse has lived out in it pretty much all winter so far and no problems, for the price I really don't think you can go wrong!

Great fit, great durability. In fact the only rug I own that doesn't have any rips in it. (200g without neck). Also their waterproof exercise sheet is great.
