I am considering using Revolution on my IDxTB mare to produce an eventer with the talent to go far. I have seen him and think he's well put together with a great temperament (my mare can be quite hot sometimes), and his offspring look great and seem to be doing really well so far. I'd like to know if anyone has used him or knows him/his offspring and can give me any opinions or suggestions? Thanks.

Not my type unfortunately.....I love the sound of him as an event sire however he himself doesn't do anything for me. Plus, looking at his BE record, whilst yes he did go advanced, his SJ is not great as he rarely had SJ clears. Sorry if it isn't what you want to hear but as event sire's go IMO there is better out there. On the plus side of him I know his temp is supposed to be super.

personally not for me- for a full tb he doesn't have as much quality as i would like and imo conformation not as i would like.
as eventrider123 says, his record isn't that good at Advanced level and his technique over a fence is not what i would look for- a little flat for me.

his temp does seem to be very, very good but i wouldn't use him if i was trying to breed a horse to go to Badminton.

I tend to agree with the above comments. However at one of the Futurity events last year they commented that this was just the stallion to use to breed eventers. I was disappointed at such a comment being made by what should have been an independent & professional assessment.

I wouldnt use him to get something to go far- he didnt go far himself and has a few weaknesses in his conformation.
I'd be looking at Weston Justice, one of the Opposition opffspring or Chilli Morning

i would have to disagree because all the other stallions are not full TB and Revolution has achieved a lot as he has races before he started his eventing.
conformation is good and all his offspring that i have seen have v good conformation at Bramham in hand class he had a winner and a 2nd 08.
i saw some off-springs at a horse trials winning and there all seemed to have big scope jumps!
i have used him on my advanced mares got 1 yearling and got 2 due this year, the yearling has a fab temp but it keeps jumping!!

I have to agree, I currently have a three year old and a yearling by Revolution. The yearling, first time out won the Young Event Horse, yearling class at Bramham last week, and his brother has taken to loose jumping, like a duck to water. They both have good temperaments and conformation.

I spent along time trying to find a suitable Event stallion for my mare, and I particularly wanted full TB. Revolution has a fantastic temperament, good conformation and excellent thoroughbred bloodlines, not many generations back in his pedigree.

I would certainly use him again. An exciting prospect is Sir Suave, by Revolution.
