or in my case...when I put a red ribbon in one of my horse's tails it means i'm pee'd off with being mown over in the collecting ring so I am going to make you think my horse may kick!! Its true... I got so fed up of our pony being mown down by the horses at BSJA (because he was jumping seniors) that I put a large red ribbon in his tail to try and keep people away from him but he wouldn't have harmed a fly really!!

I put a red ribbon on my horse just to keep others away too .. it really helped .. even those individuals who think the collecting ring is for their sole use gave us a wide berth!!
green = baby horse
red = kicker
any ribbon at all = give a wider berth than usual, i think.
there shoud be a pink one, = nice polite mare who does not like rampaging stallions coming too close, does not appreciate being squashed against the walls by huge warmbloods, and doesn't like being smacked across the face by some idiot's 4' long schooling whip sticking out like a weapon.
i think i might start putting a pink ribbon in my girl's tail. my last 2 mares ended up being quite shy in the warm-up due to the above episodes...
i am dreading taking my mare to any shows as she does have a habit of raising the ole back legs, she will have a ribbon in her tail but i think i will also tattoo 'i WILL kick' on her arse as people dont tend to take much notice of a red ribbon around here!
TBH Im also going to start putting red in my horses (who dont kick) tails for the very reason of being mown down at BSJA things. At no other time do I have the problem! BSJA peeps can be horrible !!

What colour do you think a mare should wear, when they are the rampant hormonal tart, that will try and eat any stallion for breakfast (usually sending them running away scared...) because I think my mare should start wearing one of whatever colour covers that
