Hi everyone ill attach some pics. This is my 15 year old mare Annabelle. She's always been a good doer but coming out of this winter she looked like the first picture. She had her teeth done on Friday and wormed with equimax and overnight went to the second picture. I don't know whether this is just a case of waiting for the weight gain after worming. The past week she's been fed on soothe and gain then on Friday I added calf mix and she gets 2 feeds a day since Friday. Dentist body scored her as a 6/10 but literally over night has dropped. She's out 24/7 I've never seen this before and my anxiety is through the roof any ideas greatly appreciated

Thats a massive weight loss I think I would get a vet to run bloods for worms and cushings for the time being.

Is she not getting hay ? I would be feeding ad lib hay and what is calf mix?

Shes out 24/7 grazing she comes in for a feed and calf mix is the same as pony mix used for weight gains in welshies

She's got some bad stuff going on with her feet as well, I really think you could do with having her looked over by a vet and definitely a Cushings test. Calf mix is full of molasses, her feet suggest she needs a lower sugar diet.

I hope she is blossoming soon.

This picture was taken about 3 hrs ago I'm going to call the vet for a check over but just wanted to see if anyone has another opinion

It has been so cold and wet and windy. That might have pulled the condition off her.

Agree full bloods.

What is the sugar/starch in calf mix? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Good luck getting to the bottom of it.
