Ricardo Z mare for £3500..suspicious??

She is a sharp mare but completely upside down, her back is hollow, she looks short on one hind leg so do get a 5 stage done pelvis possibly. She is fairly average for what you could buy in Ireland for same money and while she may be green I would be putting her on the lunge for a few weeks and getting her to stretch. She does not look a happy girl - sorry look but as they say, buyer beware.

Ricardo Z - not great on the breeding front - not a well proven sire so would ignore the breeding completely - apart from remember you are looking at a wb x, even if they call her an ISH!

Ricardo Z actually is ranked 27th in the top 50 list of sires of 5 & 6 yo Event horses in the UK with 3 performing progeny and 27 BE points. As an SJ and show horse sire in Ireland he has done very well too so he does have some credentials.

Be wary of the dealer.
How old is the mare, I didn't notice from the ad? Her way of going is all wrong and she looks to need tactful riding. I'd have a question mark over her soundness behind.
I see no potential in this horse as a competition animal personally, and I would be concerned about the mare rideability for a more amateur/RC market.
Definitely one to be vetted by your own vet throughly.

I live less than a mile from where ricardo z stands at stud, and as much as they like to build him up, as already said, you'd buy a ricardo z off-spring for a lot less here, so price is ok. alot of them are good, but not good enough to go to the top, so it prob depends on what you want the horse to do. A friend of mine has a ricardo z gelding, that is quiet sharp, but very scopey jumping, jumped in training shows last winter and a few outdoor shows last summer, went clear in his first outdoor show, very good looking horse, and she's asking €3000. Just to give you an idea!!!

My eyes are wide open, just hope i dont "miss" anything! Im off today at 4pm so will report back to you guys if youre interested to find out how i find her?!

Thanks all for your helpful input.

China, please explain why? what would you be looking to pay for her?

cc on her anyone else please?

Personally, I think you would get something nicer for £3500 grand. She looks particularly green, doesnt track up very well in trot at all, i think the way she trots(very heavy behind) could cause you problems later on with the concussion etc. When im back home later il have a browse and show you what i would expect for 3.5k. What area are you in? I think the price tag is just reflecting the breeding and not the actuall horse.
Oh and did i read right that they said the horse is kept at a dealers yard? I would say a dealer is selling it with the amount of you tube videos they have with the same prefix. Be carefull, and good luck :-)

I think she looks ok. As said, very green for 7, and ridden by a novicey looking rider. I don't think she looks sharp at all! A few of the horses on the site I think I recognise from Irish Horse Imports, so you will be paying a premium on what they brought them for probabloy a very short space of time a go!!
