Rice trailer upgrade

I've just bought an old Rice Beaufort. In fabulous condition except it has the old style screw hitch and slotted handbrake/override braking system. This has previously played up and put the brakes on whenever it fancied so has been used with brakes disengaged and has no breakaway cable.

I want to use it as braked trailer and will be taking it to specialist to get brakes sorted but would it be feasible to upgrade entire hitch, as looks like has been done in this advert. To include handbrake, dampner, coupling etc? http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/111699077/rice-europa-horse-trailer.html

I don't see why this wont be possible as I know that ifor Williams sell all those parts and you can get them for trailers on ebay. Whether ifor Williams would help you if you took it to them and asked them to measure it up to see if any of their parts would fit I don't know but its worth a try. Other than that try googling other trailer companies or even agricultural suppliers ( eg other trailers, our local place is paxtons ) and see if they can help.
