Is well on the mend, he is now out of hospital and is at home. although he has to go back to his local one for a few weeks just for check ups and tests. which is good news. sorry if it has been posted before.

Yes this is good news. Happy to hear it!

I often watch Top Gear and other car related stuff on TV, as we used to own a recovery service and I was the only femail breakdown truck driver in my area for over 25years.
 
I acutally can't believe how well hes recovered in such a short space of time

I know this sounds cruel but i keep expecting to here on the news, that hes suddenly been rushed back in due to sudden changes

I hope not but its what goes through my mind when things are mentioned on the news!

But hope he recovers fully very very soon!

According to the papers this morning he is not at home, has just been moved to a hospital closer to home. They also said that he is making good progress and hopefully will be back to normal in 6 months or so, just needs time to let his brain recover.

He is in Clifton in Bristol........Oh so close to us here......so tempting Sooty, so so tempting!!!!

His recovery is going to take many months and I would suspect there will be set backs. If good wishes help then he is going to be a miracle patient!!!!
 
The latest news on the BBC website is a report from the Air Ambulance guys who gave him a lift to the airport yesterday. They were saying that judging by how he was yesterday - talking and joking - he'll probably be back to normal in less than a month. His consultant neurosurgeon is being a lot more cautious and rightly so - I just hope Richard takes his advice and rests for a good few months rather than going back to work too soon.

When he was in LGI I wanted a friend of mine to be injured to I could sneak into Richards room

Ah I'm glad the little Hamster is getting better, I love the man! I saw the pics of him in The Sun gonig to the helicopter all smiles! But they're still saying he still has 'significant brain injury' last I heard...?

I was watching GMTV or some similar educational programme

the other morning and a Doctor on there said that in Dr speak a "significant head injury" is one where the brain has had enough trauma to effect a loss of consciousness no matter whether this loss of consciousness was for a few minutes or a few months they use the same wording.
