Richard maxwell halter

Thank you to whomever it was that recommended a richard maxwell halter for leading a difficult horse!! It's an absolute game changer! Horse really respects it and there is no silly pulling back when he is being naughty. Literally one squeeze on the rope, like you would do your reins, is enough to put him in his place!
It’s fab isn’t it? It might have been me, I always recommend them! It’s a lot of money for what seems like a piece of rope but it works so well! Glad it’s helping x

I didn’t recommend it on your thread but I’ve recommended a fair few times on here as it’s the only thing I’ve ever managed to hold my tank of a horse in. Although even that he’ll have a good go.
My horse seems to react quite badly to a bit or chifney when bringing in. I was a bit worried he would just mess around even more in the halter as it doesn't look much! Hopefully he will continue to respect it!

I have one too and it is a godsend. It has been so useful in persuading a reluctant loader that yes, he DOES have to go in the lorry. I have a youngster who decided she didn't want to go through her stable door. Two sessions with the RM halter and problem solved. No fuss, no drama - just pressure and release.

I asked a friend years ago to buy me a pressure halter for our non loading pony as she was heading to the feed store. Came back with an expensive piece of rope with a couple of knots in which didn't look very impressive. But as others have said, these are magic, the pony took about 3 minutes to do exactly what the instructions said and loaded then and every time after though we always put the halter on, even if not used, she knew it was there.

I love mine! I’ve been using it on my 23 year old mare since she was 8! Wouldn’t lead her in anything else! I’ve been using it on my youngster too! Best bit of kit out😊
