He did a great demo at Poltimore about 5 years ago, mainly about how to get a lazy horse working forward. I was very impressed. He was also at Coombe Park, South Devon last week I think, so he travels around a bit.
Richard Maxwell charges £400 for a 2-4hr session (includes travel expenses) - that's what he quoted me for sorting out my lad's loading problems. In the end I sorted things myself but I'd definitely get him out if I had any other problems
He charges £400 for a half day. He came up to Lancashire to help us with a difficult loader and I have to say it was money well spent as we never had another problem with the horse.
I've seen one of Richard's demos and he is very impressive, one of those small, strong (ex-army I think) guys who is very capable with horses. He taught a big, stroppy horse to load in about 20 mins (that had to be sedated to get to the session). It was following the owner into the lorry on a loose rope by the end of his work, he uses a lot of patience and skill to get results (and isn't "airy - fairy").
