Having lived in Richmond upon Thames for a few years, I began haranguing Ham Polo Club, asking if I could 'help' (with little knowledge) with their horses. After years of emailing Dominika acquiesced. There I met Frank a six year old retired racehorse who had a terrible head nodding problem. His owner - and the club - said I could walk/graze him in hand as much as I liked which I did. There was little turnout at Ham so his owner moved him to pasture over the summer. He is now back in a nearby stable with more turnout. We're just re-acquainting ourselves with him again. His back near hoof/leg seemed a bit unstable in May when I met him. His owner kindly let me - and my partner - stand in on groundwork classes by Minette Rice's Andy & Kat Pickering. Frank is now being ridden in the school by a more experienced rider I have yet to meet - and lunged by the livery staff.
