i have an ID x TB 16.3 mare im looking to breed from in the future, can anyone recommend any good RID stallions I can take a look at?

Are you looking for covering or AI, where geographically do you want to look and what qualities are you looking for in a stallion and the offspring. What is your mares breeding?

Be careful with some ID lines, they can be surpisingly lively as we discovered.
The Knock Boy/Seacrest/Cruising is very similar to our old stallion and he was very forward going!
I would agree with the others, KA is without doubt the best ID stallion I have ever seen...very trainable and beautiful too. I would go and visit him, from what others have said, you'll fall for him.

KA, hubba hubba!. I wonder how much his fee is.

I am reluctant to do chilled as although he got a mare in foal with chilled last year it does not travel as well as some other stallions semen. We will be happy to do walk in inseminations though.

His stud fee will be 400. He also has some very rare bloodlines which may appeal to ID owners but I think his strength lies in breeding competition horses with wonderful temperaments.

It really depends on what your mares ID breeding is and what exactly you want to breed. You will find with the decline of the Irish Draught in recent times there are alot of stallion about with similar breeding, ideally you would like an outcross for your mare

Do you know her breeding lines? If she is a half bred - have you considered going for a TB or do you need the weight carrying element? In other words what do you want the foal to do? If eventing our ID/TB mare has just produced a super foal to Weston Justice.

Yes he came back a couple of weeks ago. Angela is getting him fit so he can go out to some parties. Haven't decided what parties he'll go to but he is very well in himself so maybe some local cross country and we may re affiliate him with BD as Addington is so close.

He is still his sweet old self, we have some builders in at the moment and we asked them to put a tie ring in his stable, we said when you are ready to do it get one of us and we'll tie him up out the way. Anyway I went off to Ulrik Molgaards to watch Derek working and when I came back the tie ring was up! Now I knew Angela was over at Bumbles for the afternoon so I asked what they did!
One of them went in untied his haynet and led him over to his water bucket with the hay net and the other one put the ring up, bear in mind these guys know nothing about horses at all! I nearly died of fright but good old Ari let his stomach rule his life as usual and was like a lamb. I love him to bits

PMSL!!! If ever there was an advert for a good temperament!! I still can't believe that you made me sit on him!! It was SUCH an honour!

Another vote for Ari. He is simply delightful!!

We have a colt by Rebelara - I know there are an awful lot of stock by him at the moment (or at least that's what it seems like) but they are very nice animals - our colt was third at the ID Breed show at Lincoln this year - another Rebelara baby was 2nd. Our colt is laid back to the extreme and is still entire - not colty at all, but a very nice "person".
