. Am I allowed to use a Pelham in a local RC ridden class?

Unless there's a restriction in the schedule, in unaffiliated classes you can use whatever bit you like, although in novice classes some judges may expect to see horses in a snaffle. If you use a pelham, as long as it's with 2 reins, that's fine.

If you can get a schedule then it will say on it whther it is just for a snaffle.

If it is just Ridden Coloured I can't imagine them not allowing Pelhams, it is just normally your Novice Showing and the likes which which normally state snaffle. ones like Coloureds, M&M, Hunters and Arabs etc are allowed pelhams and doubles

Oh good, cant see showing being much fun without something a little more reassuring than a snaffle. Going to do the workers on him too, actually looking forwards to it in a way

In local ridden coloureds, a pelham is perfectly acceptable unless you are doing a young/novice horse class in which case a snaffle is preferred.

If you really want to look the part, get a rugby pelham and use a double bridle.

Agree with Theresa_F - That is how I understand it too....
You should do great (very handsome horse) esp in the workers with a jump like that. Have fun... I normally use a rugby pelham at local level as my horse has a small mouth and the double is too much for him.
