Hello, please can anyone advise what specifically the judge will be looking for in the in-hand section of a ridden showing class? Would they have a check-list in mind? Thanks in advance
It is important that the horse leads and trots calmly and powerfully on a loose-ish rein so that his head and neck stay straight and he can stretch and lower his head. I wish more people would take the time to work with their horses for this phase as often it is when a final decision will be made. In hand training is essential if the most is to be made of it.
