Just after a bit of updated advice!

I know people have been able to share words of advice before on the forum, but it was a few years ago and I was hoping for some more recent experiences!

Thinking about going to try some horses at Ride Irish this year and find it very annoying they don't put any prices online! There's a nice coloured I like the look of that would be worth trying. Was a bit put off by previous comments suggesting that Ride Irish can be naughty about telling the truth! (as could any private seller I suppose we would have to accept)

Many thanks!

I also found it very annoying that the prices are not online, seeing as they are a dealer it seems foolish to spend time enquiring about a horse only to find out it is far out of your price range:o

Yes I will phone them obviously!

Wanted to hear other people's experiences before hand. I presume the horses dont necesarily have fixed prices because they want to get as much as they can for them. So they ask your budget and then tell you the horse is at the very top of your budget!

Anyway the price thing isn't my main concern. I was more interested in whether they are honest and what the horses are like!

Please don't think I'm one of those annoying people who gets stressed about the rules...
But this is on a sticky in the new lounge. It might be worth inviting people to PM you that way noone says something they shouldn't & gets banned!!!

Dear forum users

Unfortunately, due to the increasing number of posts about horse dealers which breach the forum T&Cs, we have been forced to place this topic off-limits. Please do not undertake any discussion about horse dealers or horse dealing yards on the H&H forum.

If you have experienced a problem with a dealer, then please take the matter up with your local trading standards office. Any threads which discuss any individual horse dealer or dealing yard, whether they are directly named or not, will be removed in their entirety and any individuals involved may have action taken against their accounts.

While we appreciate that this decision will not be popular, you have to understand that in order for IPC Media to provide you with this free service, we cannot allow discussion to take place that could lead to legal action being taken against the company.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Oh!! Oops!

That does kind of explain why the only stuff on here I could find was from 2009!

Very disappointing that people can't share experiences that would result in dealers realising news travels fast and that being dishonest can effected their business, thus resulting in more reliable dealers and less people being sold unsuitable or dangerous horses. Equally stopping positive experiences being shared thus supporting the good ones.

LOL! I completely agree! I had a horror with a dealer down my way & there is part of me that wants to tell the world so that others don't get taken in by him!!! I know of other people who have had bad experiences with him too so I know it wasn't just me.

I kept the horse in the end though - as I fell in love with him despite his faults, I was sick of dealing with this crook and decided money wasn't everything!!!

Anyway I'll stop now in case I get chucked off! I'll PM you though!!!

Brilliant thanks.

Sorry to have broken any rules, although I know ignorance is not a defence! (as I am a barrister!) so just in case, would people mind sending me a pm instead so that no rules are broken!

(sorry H&H)
