Ride on fly rug

Lots of horseflies at the moment. Anyone use a ride on fly rug?are they any good?do they slip? Tell me about them.

Yes, they are very good
One of my most awful fly-infested routes goes from impassable to manageable if he wears his 'dress' (as some bloke once referred to it)
Mine came from Kramer, it's got a cut out bit for the saddle and doesn't slip

I use them on some horse the ones with fringes along the bottom yes they do help .

Another vote for Kramer - I’ve got one with the fringed edges to keep flies away from the belly. It was a game-changer for us as it means I can still hack occasionally during fly season - my horse reacts violently to being bitten - but is much more manageable when he’s covered up by his rug. It doesnt slip but I did have to go up a rug size...

I have the amigo fly rider and really rate it. It made a real difference to my horse who was a nightmare to ride when the flies were about.

My pony is a 14.2/3 Connie and a Shires 5’ 9”” fly rug can be a little tight and a similar 6’ was too big, hence my question.
Perhaps I should err on too big being better than too small.

I have a bright yellow one and my old horse loved it. If she didn't have it on, she was a bucking bronco, but we had many happy hacks in clegg-infested parks outfitted in our yellow armor.

My lady is a broad shouldered 15.3 ISH and I've had to go up to a 6.9 in a fly rug ?

I have an Amigo fly rider and it means I can keep hacking through the summer fly season. Well worth the money as well, mine is still going strong after about 6 years.
