hiya, looking for a very basic unheating mix for my tb. hes currently on sugar beet but hes getting a bit hyper on it. got a fact sheet on ride and relax and it looks good. his previous owner gave her calm and condition but this apparently hyped him up as well.

I had my mare on Ride and Relax a couple of winters ago. She seemed to love it and it certainly didn't make her hyper as other mixes can and sugarbeet just made her loopy. It had a lovely fresh smell and seemed very good quality. Only problem for me was it wouldn't be enough to keep condition on her when she's clipped (she was unclipped that winter).

Fab feed. Really keeps them looking really well. A friend evented her TB mare off it and the mare always looked very well and kept a sane head

Had my gelding on Ride & Relax last winter and he certainly did well on it. Compared to Calm and Condition it has lower levels of oil, protein and starch and a lower digestible energy percentage. R&R is high in fibre, 22% compared to 11.5% for C&C.

Allen and Page recommend that R&R be damped down but it doesn't have to be soaked as such.

It used to have quite a strong minty aroma but I don't think it's now as pronounced as it was...could be my diminishing sense of smell! Have heard anecdotal stories of R&R making some horses loopy, but that wasn't the case for me...think mine was a bit too relaxed at times.

i have used ride and relax.it was fab had a hot headed chestnut mare and it was the only feed i found suited her fed all year round and she went on to event on it always looked really well and it calmed her down no end brillant stuff

excellent! really good to hear so many great reviews about it as went out and got some yesterday. Little worried as he's dropped a bit of condition but hopefully this will at least help him maintain condition. Fingers crossed he stays sane

I gotta laugh- I make him out to sound a right nutter but i think hes the calmest ex racehorse you could ever find! (wel...when hes not on heating feed!)
