Rideaway - REALLY bad service - Anyone else?

I have to say I tend to order from shops on e-bay as they tend only to sell what they actually have in stock, my last rug purchase came in to days( Eileen Douglas). The speediest delivery I ever had was off ebay, ordered just before 12 and got it 2pm the following day.
I do support my local tack shop as much as possible but often they do not have what I want.

This is worth knowing, as I was tempted to order something from them. I haven't used them for a while, but when I did, their customer service was fantastic, and I would have recommended them. Not so sure, now. Hope those of you who are waiting get your deliveries soon.

In the past I have found them really good (apart from 1 mix up with some dressage markers where they sent me a 20x40 instead of the full 20x60 letters I had ordered, but after speaking to the manager it was quickly rectified). However I went in store on the 1st December as I need a new hat and wanted to take advantage of the 20% off offer they had on at the time. Unfortunately they didn't have the hat I wanted in my size. Due to my head being tiny although Charles and Own make the hat small enough, Rideaway don't normally stock it in that size, so it would be a special order. Rideaway promised to phone their supplier the following day to check they could get it in for me. By the evening of the following day I still had heard nothing (and the 20% offer ran out the following morning). After several attempts at getting through I finally managed to speak to someone, who blamed their supplier for not phoning them back with an answer. The girl promised to ring them back and phone me as soon as she had an answer, and she would put a note on that I wanted the 20% off. That was now over a week ago and I haven't heard a sausage since. Everytime I try to ring it goes unanswered and since it wont let you leave a message there isn't much you can do. Although I guess I could email! So at the moment I am unimpressed!

Well I have finally managed to get through (6th time lucky) to a person on the phone. Who told me they couldn't get the hat I want in my size. I told them I would have appreciated to be told as I have been hanging on hoping to get 20% off when normally I would just have gone elsewhere. The woman did apologise and I also said I wasn't happy it had taken me so many attempts to speak to somebody, especially as I couldn't leave a message. She said she would pass my comments on to management. Doubt they will do much though!

I ordered recently when they had the 20% off, was disappointed when i looked back on my order history and saw the same boots I'd ordered in March where £63, and I've just reordered them as they've given up the ghost, and with the 20% off, they where £65!

they must hike their prices, and then offer a discount :-(

Delivery wasn't as quick as normal either..

Ordered from them a dozen or so times previously, and had noted that their delivery was much longer than other companies (1-2 weeks compared to 1-2 days). Still, they had a nice range of products and very competitive prices so I continued buying from them.

A couple of months ago, I placed an order, waited two weeks, heard nothing about delivery, emailed them 3 days in a row asking what was happening, had no response. Called them, was told by a friendly but disinterested person 'oh yeah, we've got loads of emails to get through, what did you want?' at which point I cancelled my order, and will never shop with them again.

Well I've FINALLY had an email in reply to all of my calls and emails.

No explanation & no apology... the email just said that my order will be dispatched today.

It's the 11th now and it's only just being dispatched!?!?! With no contact in between!! I ordered on the 2nd and they took my money (£97) on the 3rd!!!!

NOT GOOD RIDEAWAY !!!!

My mom ordered some boots from them for my xmas pressie which had 20% off which was great BUT the order still came to over a 100 pound which you are meant to get free delivery for and never did, I refreshed the page a couple of times to see if the postage price would update but it never did so mom just paid the postage, only a fiver or so but still annoying all the same when it should be free!!

This is the only time I have had problems using them though, I must admit.

I used to love visiting Rideaway (it's about an hour from me) but since they've been bought over I will not bother using them again! I went in September to look for a turnout; none of the rugs on display had prices on, no staff could be bothered to help, and even with one of their catalogues to find prices we still failed - half the rugs on display were not in the catalogue!! Staff totally uninterested, a lack of nice things out, and prices really hiked.

Shame, it used to be a good day out visiting :(
