Is anyone here interested in rider biomechanics??

I have just started doing my course with the International Society of Rider BIomechanics and it is just awesome!!!

Biomechanics rock!! Seriously, it is nice to have riding techniquie broken down into small chunks so anyone can achieve a good 'seat' not just those with natural talent!

I'm interested in biomechanics but have never heard of that organisation before now. Having just found them on the net and read some of the articles, does it get any better than checking if your balanced by looking in a mirror to see if your earrings are level to the ground?

It is so important and it teaches you how to ride properly - as most instructors can't really do! A complete eye opener :)

For lessons, try Ride With Your Mind coaches too (Mary Wanless's organisation), they have people spread over the country. It has transformed my riding and my horse!

Another fan of RWYM. I find the relationship of the biomechanics of the horse and rider fascinating- and, once you can understand it and break everything you do whilst riding down into bitesize chunks (as canteron said), it becomes so much easier to understand how the rider can have an effect on the horse (whether positive or negative), and vice versa. Admittedly... it gives you a lot more to have to think about initially, and sometimes literally just the most minute and specific of alterations can make such a difference.

LOL, sorry i had to chuckle!
Yes, it does get much better but it is amazing just how some of those simpler things can have such a huge effect!!
Let me know if u r interested because i am more than happy to share the knowledge as i think this is simply awesome and FANTASTIC that there is finally an entry level course for people / coaches to specialise in the area!

I'm interested in ANYTHING which can help me with my position but I'm too far away to attend any courses alas..:( If you have any pearls of wisdom however..? What would you suggest I can do? I have my stage 2 in a week and it's all about being independent of the reins.

Send me a PM with any concerns you have in your riding and i will help as best i can!
The beauty about this course is that it is all done via correspondence!!!
