I just saw on a HHO article that Eric Lamaze missed the last two olympics due to testing positive for cocaine.
So are riders randomly tested for drugs in the equestrian disciplines? What exactly are they looking for? - it's not like coke is going to turn you into any better a rider after all.
I feel a bit surprised - although I guess it is just fairly standard to test all athletes. Theoretically, could the FEI test riders at international events? Or in fact DO they?
Since I work somewhere where recreational drug use is very normal, and open, I may have a distorted view of reality, but I would have thought many riders could fail drugs tests on these grounds?
