Looking into getting some rider insurance.
I don't have my own horse, and ride for other people.
What sort of policy should I go for, and what ompany/organisation??

Thanks
Lizzie

Thanks, that doesn't sound too dear. Do you have a link to the page on their website, as I have looked, but seem unable to find it.

Thanks.
I'll google that and see what it says.

Petplan rider. I have my own horses & they have insurance, but I also ride other peoples, so I've got the top rider plan insurance that they (Petplan) offer. It covers things like 3rd party which is handy, but also covers the rider against temporary injury & immediate vets fees amongst other things -Things that I think you are far more likely to actually need.
I think its about £80 for a year. Best to read the small print on their website.

join the BHS as a Gold member and you will have the ins as part of membership....

plus all the other perks for being a member..discounts/newsletters etc

The one advantage of BHS insurance is that there is no excess, so they will pay the whole of your claim if you did have an accident - other policies will probably have one which could mean that you are liable for the first £100 or so.

I know that NFU do a rider only policy - I think it is about £30ish. But they don't cover you on your own horse.

Thanks everyone. I've done some research on the BHS one and it seems good.
Will have a look at PetPlan and NFU to see if their offers are better.

Thanks again
