I need to sort out some rider insurance, and was wondering who the best company was to go with? Used to be with E&L but cancelled the policy and don't want to use them again, so does anybody know any other companies that do rider only insurance?

I heard the BHS gold membership was good, does anybody have any experience with this?

Every person with rider only insurance has BHS gold on my yard never had an problems with it, and it usually gets you free tickets to big events like badminton/hickstead

Ive just joined the BHS again after I let my membership lapse form when I was in college and doing my exams......well as im riding other peoles horses (not for payment) I thought id best get myself signed up. It cost me £58 for the year..so probably cheaper than paying a monthly direct debit to a company for just rider insurence

Hope that helps hun!

Before we had our own ponies, I bought rider insurance for myself and my two children. I bought it through NFU and I think it was £50/year for me and £40 each for the children.

Never had to claim on it, but was glad I had it as my children were riding borrowed ponies which I know were not insured by their owners.

I liked the security of having my own insurance should anything have happened.
