Not much help, but my old breastplate looks like one of those since I replaced the rings with brass ones that are too big. :D

The rings weren't very expensive, I got them on ebay.

You could do with a tatty blanket to go under the saddle..... charity shop?

Planning on going charity shopping when I get paid :D I'm very excited!

Hehe, it's far too much fun dressing up! Especially when I can get photoshoots done by my brother :D

Hmmm... I think you might end up trawling charity shops for an old brown leather jacket to cut up, and/or a brown sheet and make your own? If you sort something then please post photos!

Is it for an event or just a photoshoot? If you're deadly serious, I'd contact a re-enactment society to find out where they get all their gear. A lot of the Rohan stuff seems medieval-ish looking. Otherwise, the charity shops. You will, of course, have to post pics.

Regandal - just a photoshoot for now, but I hopefully in the future I'd like to do an event of some sort :) even if it's not in the near enough future for it to be with Ned, but I like having these things around :P

I shall certainly hit the charity shops soon :D found something on ebay to make a saddle cloth

Could try looking for some cheap silver broaches like the ones used on kilts and scarfs. Use soft garden wire to wind them on the bits rings, browband, breastplate etc.

And buy an old leather jacket and cut it up to make faceplate for under horses bridle. And an old hip chain can be looped between the browband and noseband to make a crossover facepiece too.
