I dont own a horse but have a share that i ride twice a week and im looking into rider insurance as i have a mortgage.

So far on my search it seems that the majority of equine insurance companys dont do rider only insurance.

The best so far is Pet Plan who for £96per year will pay out £20,000 for disability........now to me that does'nt sound like a lot! What do you think?

Ive got life and critical illness with the mortgage but if i phoned them up do you think they would cover me for riding or does it have to be a spesific insurance? Thanks

Have you tried the british horse society? Think their gold membership is about 50 pound a year and sure that you get personal insurance with that.

I took mine out with NFU when I loaned a horse. Only cost £7 a month and think it covered public liability which you need etc. Really nice people, plus the monthly amount goes down every month cos of some shareholder thing?!
