Hi,

I'm looking for someone that wants to ride (weekends/weekdays) and help me out at shows to HOYS level. I cant guarantee riding at shows as you'll need to be the right person for that! but if you are, then we can sort something out.

i have large breeds M+Ms and have youngsters upwards. Shows most weekends......

This is not a paid position! Just someone that wants some riding.

Please text/ring me with any further questions 07969 398956.

Thanks

Fi

Good luck with finding someone, ive been trying for so long! I have to beg steel and borrow people to come to shows with me and i offer riding and lessons in exchange, very difficult these days, no one seems to want to do anything without getting paid for it :( I did find one person who wanted to come and ride and groom for me at showswho had advertised on preloved but then i didnt hear from her so contacted her again and she said that she was waiting to pass her driving test! Was a bit confused as she had advertised saying she was looking for a horse to ride and would even pay £30 a week! Very odd

Yes how odd...

Surely there has to be someone out there? It's an opportunity for the right person to get to hoys etc etc but I'm afraid I believe that they have to put some of the work in!!

Oh well....my poor boyfriend will have to get dragged along if not!!!

How frustrating for you. We always had a surfeit of 'girls' who lived locally and were keen to come & help in exchange for rides and lessons. These days I only have a couple of horses so no need, but times have definitely changed.

I think the problem probably is that most people probably can't afford to work for free, especially when the sort of person you're looking for has to be a decent rider/have lots of experience which is likely to mean that they have their own horse(s) to support?

Good luck :) If I didn't have so much to do, I would love that oppertunity!

Where abouts in Shrops are you? (PM if you prefer)

My horse maybe off work for a while and I maybe able to help short term depending on his recovery. More of a dressage rider these days, but have done ridden showing to county level in the past

Six months ago i'd have jumped at the chance, your not far from me either. \however I now have my youngster to concentrate on.

I'm based between Telford and Newport.

Know what you're saying Jackson but in this financial climate there must be people that can't afford their own horses etc or even that would love to be involved and can't ride brilliantly!!

You don't have to ride if you just want to come out and about to the shows but thought that would be the pay back!

If I wasn't in Surrey I'd be there like a shot. I spent my teens doing precisely that, helping out and showing inhand so I could be around horses.

Its a shame really that we have our own horses as we live in the same area (Muxton) and my daughter would have loved the opportunity. If you are ever "stuck" I am sure she would love to help, she is 16 and very dedicated.

Well do get in contact smudge. She could always help me with the big county shows in the school holidays!! If she's there when we collect our hoys/Olympia ticket then I'd obviously expect her to come to the final!!

We tried to find someone last you to keep my daughters horse fit whilst she was at university, they would have been able to compete, hunt him etc once they had put the work in. Sadly seems there were plenty of people wanting to do the fun bit but not put the fittening work in first. I hope you manage to find someone for your horses.
