Hello,
I know its been done a million times but Id love some advice from an outsider view.
My mare is a 14.3 welsh D X arab, with 8.5 inches of bone (at thats at a push). She 14 years old. Im 75kg, so I know that Im probably at her limit but...
Shes out on loan at the min, due to me being at uni, and her loaner is hitting 16 stone. She has balance and can ride, dont get me wrong, but she tends to ride for an hour an night and does jump twice a week. She gets a day off once a fortnight, and thats only been introduced due to her going lame (first time without a serious injury in 9 years) Shes took her XC schooling today and the pics Ive seen shes clearly struggling (why im posting) but I dont know if Im being the worried owner, or if her weight is a genuine concern!
Am I justifed in telling her to lose weight or lose my mare? When she rides in front of me my horse doesnt seem bothered, but shes such an honest mare that shed carry on regardless.
But yes any advice would be beneficial
