Rider weight limit for a Welsh Section A, advice please

Can you give me a ball park rider weight limit figure for a stocky 9 year old Welsh Section A.

I've no idea about others but my Section A will get rid of any rider weighing over 8 stone. Theoretically she should be capable of carrying more than that but she doesn't see why she should.

ps She will perfectly happily tow well over 20 stone in a trap!

So theoretically, how much do you reckon an 11.2 hh Welsh A might manage. Sorry for being so clueless but am not used to little un's normally.

Daughter used to ride an 11.2 average build Sec A, and owner had limit of 9st. Think it also depends how fit they are. I think she was probably capable of a bit more than that, she also happily pulls more in a trap.

If the rider is well balanced I think they could comfortably carry 7/8 stone

For short rides maybe up to 9 stone.

depends on the type, proper welsh a's are built like tanks and can easily carry 9 stone, and reg. do in the show ring.

I would have said 9st for a balanced rider. I'm about that and rode two or three when they were naughty for their little jockeys. Did jumping/hacking etc no problem and got better work out of them then a child ever could.

my boy has had 11stone on him & diddnt pat an eyelid, put me on him 7st & he's a git!! (buck central)
