I've got to have an operation soon and I've been looking for someone to exercise my four horses for me. Just someone or a couple of people who will hack them, school them, do anything really. It's free riding on decent horses (even though they are ex racers), no mucking out.

I've advertised on a couple of websites but even though I've specified competent riders I've had 10 yr olds (they need to be able to handle and tack them up) and people who've had as little as 6 lessons reply.

I'm stumped, anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Tell us where you are based someone on here might know someone. I'm in Derbyshire and OH and I are both looking for a suitable share. Both experienced riders and have shared before but never owned. There are people out there it is just a question of finding them.

You could try asking local instructors/riding clubs they may know of people. Even the local riding school may have people who are very competent riders that can't own their own for whatever reason. We'd both love to progress beyond the riding school neds (nice though they are) but the time and money balance isn't quite adding up and we've got a wedding to save for at the moment too.

My share horse's owner found me on this forum! Couldn't believe it, was very lucky

Maybe advertise online too, I know ridemyhorse is a good website... advertise in local tack shops too maybe? The best way is word of mouth, but I know that often isn't as easy as it sounds!

Oh I wish you were closer to me! There are good sharers out there - I'm one of them! - I know which end it what and have previously owned for 10 years so I understand the dilemas that owners go through finding a sharer!
