Does anyone use one of these? I wondered if it would be a useful tool to have to take off any sharp bits on our unshod pony's hooves between farrier visits. I am guessing its legal to use as its marketed as being useful for between visits.

I use the green riders rasp and it works ok. It's not designed to take hoof wall back, just to round the hooves and take out chips really. RR is great for in between the farrier.

Hubs uses a proper rasp if they ever need a good trim back, but you need to know what you're doing with a full rasp. Trimming your own horses feet is legal, I am lucky in that my farrier taught us, although I still get him out when needed.
