As abouve really. Any good rides around Loughborough / Wymeswold? I am looking for some good safe off road tracks for my nutcase of a Welsh x. He needs to go and let off some steam and riding in the school all winter just doesn't do it for him.

The roads round our house are not great for hacking so was looking for somewhere I could trailer him to so would need good parking too.

Also wondered if there was anyone out there who fancied a bit of company. (The downside to keeping your horses at home!

Can you travel? How about Beacon Hill, around Woodhouse Eaves? I've not been around there myself (only hunted in that area) but believe its quite nice. There is a large carpark leading directly onto the bridlepaths.

Beacon Hill always looks very inviting but they're very picky about when you can go there. Still waiting to pick my moment!

Beacon Hill is only open at certain times to riders.

I used to hack around Wymeswold/Wysall areas and used to canter on the verders tracks, but it wasn't very good.

Now I'm more East Leake/Stanford/Normanton way and the hacking is loads loads better, but you'd have to box up as I wouldn't fancy riding down the A6006 to get there!

Another vote for Beacon Hill - I just go when we feel like it....ooops!! So i've just checked the website and it only says tracks may be closed in very wet weather. Bradgate Park on the other hand does have more restrictions such as only before 1pm on Bank Holidays, Saturdays & Sundays. PM me if you ever fancy a meet up

Well if boxing up isn't a problem, there is a spot in West Leake where I've often seen trailers left, from there you can get to Gotham, or go back to West Leake/Sutton Bonington/Normanton.

I like the pub rides we can do now!!!
