Ridges in hoof wall

What do ridges horizontally across a horse's hoof wall indicate?

If it always laminitis?

could be just growth rings and nothing to worry about, a change in diet or the spring grass can do it, normally nothing to worry about, check with your farrier if you are concerned x

Yes agree with mookey, its just a combination of growth and diet; my shetalnd gets them every spring, his feet grow very fast, as most laminitics do.

Laminitis rings are usually wavy or contracted looking at the heels..... if the rings are evenly spaced round the hoof they will be diet related or could be from the horse having been a little ill etc..... anything that could either retard or advance hoof growth
