How soon were you riding again after having had a C section? I had mine 5 weeks ago, but my abdominal wall was also split in my pregnancy.

I'm hoping to be able to start backing my youngster in the next few weeks...

I recovered quickly from the section and was up and about within a couple of days.

I had one with my daughter and was riding again 4 weeks later. Admittedly it was against doctor's advice but I was fine and my horse is a very safe and steady cob who looks after everyone. I wouldn't have ridden anything else that soon. Sorry don't think that helps you any really.

I rode the day before my 6 week check up. Had no core strength or balance AT ALL and couldn't stay upright. It took a while before I felt I was safe again lol

I got back on my sane horse the day after my 6 week check. As sychnant said, my core strength had definitely been reduced by pregnancy/ c-section. I'd personally want to do 2 or 3 of weeks of riding something sensible before thinking about backing a horse. Good luck!

I was on restricted exersise for 3 months before my c-section so i was rediculously unfit after my op.

I went for one 5 min potter round the field 5 weeks after my op then stupidly had a 40min lesson 3 days later! I was bent over double the day after! But a couple of days later i was fine and just stuck to hacking until my muscles were a bit less jelly like!

I think the first time everything gets stretched after the op it will pull a bit. Just take it slow (learn from my mistake) and you will be fine!

cant remember when i did get back on but when i did i also had no core strength and balance was tricky due to this. as said above i'd want to do some riding on a sensible horse before trying backing a youngster. you feel fine but your core muscles have been split and cut and honestly my muscles have never been the same since :(
