Pretty much as ubove, he was shod this morning do you think its okay for me to ride straight away ? Loads of people say yes then some people say wait a day so im not sure lol
My farrier tells me not to. My boy is a bit creaky (spavins) plus he shivers so he can be a bit stiff after shoeing, so I always leave him til at least the next day and just turn out.
New shoes need a little time to ''bed in'' so as above stay out of deep mud but no problem riding normally
Aim to shoe one week before cross country competitions if possible
I used to turn out with over-reach boots on when newly shod--Cuffey older now tends not to fly around quite so much although he did this morning--had a real hoolie

So did we (about 8 miles away), we had to if we wanted him hot shod, there were no portable forges in the 'black & white years'.
Sister rode one way and I rode the other (Dad dropped off/collected us and we had fish & chips for lunch). The horse was always really slow on the way there and much livlier on the way back.
This gets asked so often here, and, as always, you will get a division in yes or no. There is no reason not to ride, if you are worried, ask your farrier what he/she thinks.
