Just had my bypass op 10 days ago...Just wondering how long it will take to get back into gentle riding. Not in a hurry really but just wondered if other members have been through the same. I know it will take about 6-8 weeks for sternum to heal. At the moment just glad to have survived the op and now let my body recover....

Sorry to hear that you've been ill but pleased to hear you've had your op and are on the mend. I've no experience of a bypass but I am a believer in listening to your surgeon and also to your body. we all heal at different rates and we only have one body, so we need to take care of it. Best wishes and hears to a speedy recovery.

I had no idea you had been so ill. I am glad you have got the operation over with and hope your recovery is trouble free. X
Thanks Red-1..I had angina back a few months back having 6 previous stents and it was found the stents were blocking up so was decided that a bypass was the best option. Doing really good even at this early stage but its my upper back thats giving me most trouble. Staying with margaret so she is looking after me and the horses. Got the op done super quick so did not have time to worry myself sick about it. xx

I am in no rush to ride until my body is healed...
