One for the mummies...

How long did u wait before getting on ??
Not worried about my hoss as he's a sensible fella but I did have quite a few stitches .
Just wondered when it was 'safe' to and when it might be comfortable to.

LO is 2 weeks old so no immediate rush :-)

Thanks

I waited 2 weeks, but made sure I had a soft sheepskin seat saver for my saddle. I don't think I'd have been on board so quickly without it :)

3 weeks and had bad stitches. They do recommend 6 weeks but could not wait this long.

I have been told by other people they regret not waiting as your joints are still soft and it did cause a couple of people problems (though really who knows if related)

I got on 7 weeks after a c-section but took it very gently as I couldn't afford to injure myself while having to look after the baby. She is now 11 weeks and I am schooling more properly but the most difficult thing is finding time for the riding around the breast feeding.

I waited 6 weeks, the way I figured, I'd had to stop riding at 28weeks pregnant, what was another 6 weeks really on top of that after the birth. Normal delivery, no stitches [lucky].

I would say enjoy your teeny tiny baby, they grow and change so fast. There will be masses of time for riding in the future when baby is bigger. Congratulations BTW!

watching with interest - i was due last Thursday and am booked in for induction on Tuesday and cannot wait to get back in the saddle properly. I last rode a week ago, but verrrry slowly under strict supervision!
