Riding and Road Safety Exam

Whats the minimum hours of training needed for it?, I`m filling out the form to do it in Febuary and I`m a bit confuzzled.

lol.. its basically common sense but i would advice on around four hours. Thats what i had for mine.

We had 6hrs worth of training - ridden and theory

I think I had around 6 hours for mine, but most of it is common sense ,something that I may lack

Syllabus says 9 hours, but you can get away with less.

i think i did about 2 hours theory and 2 hours riding

maybe an hour or two more

What do I need to wear for it?, I have cream jods can I get away without a jacket?. I checked the BHS website and it didn`t say, I rang the venue and the person who answered wasn`t the most clued in (phone skills were a bit dire).

I did mine as part of a group. Some of us were in the yard jumper which is navy with shirt & tie underneath, couple of people had jackets on

As long as you're smart and tidy, doesn't really matter

Should really be jacket shirt and tie, but dress according to weather.

Are you doing it on your horse. Tack is all checked for safety, stitching etc. Also make sure you have phone(switched off), card with name and address, folding hoof pick and a piece of string. Also as much Hi Viz stuff as you can dress your horse in!

i did it with my pony club but did the BHS test, so wore shirt, tie and tweed jacket, then they gave us a fluorescent bib with a number on it so they knew who each of us were
