Riding Assessment Tomorrow!!

Hey guys, dont usually start threads on here so be kind ;):p

Got an interview and riding assessment tomorrow for the college that i'm going too (hopefully) in September. Really nervous but excited at the same time - dont know how that works...

Anyone had any experience with these or can give hints/tips

I went to an equine college in Suffolk was also nervous about my riding assessment.
Just stay calm, be totally honest about your riding experience and relax!
I had only ridden riding school ponies before this and had to ride a TB mare, didn't think straight and when they told me to canter I pony club kicked!
The mare was lovely, cantered quite fast but came back very quickly and I wasn't marked down for this.
Don't try to over think the situation but use common sense and remember to keep a smile on your face :)
 
This is going back a couple of years i went for a riding assessment/interview at a college in surrey.
Just had a general chat in the interview as to what i wanted to get out of course - as i wanted to be an instructor.
Then the assessment. Around 6 of us on horses (bit like a group lesson) we all walked round, then first one trotted round school to the back, then the second, third etc. Then again the same in canter, first one cantered round to the back, then the rest one by one. I had a v.forward going horse so the second the person in front of me trotted he started to trot after him. They weren't fussed at all just literally wanted to see everyone could comfortably walk trot and canter.

Thoughts are with you as I have a presentation assessment for a L5 Leadership & Management exam tomorrow as well which I have to deliver to work collegues and an independant assesor - sort of wish I was doing yours, as I would be in more of my comfort zone! Have done similar for BHS exams in the past - confidence is the key, just try and treat the assessment as if you were having a lesson with your normal instructor - warming your own horse up prior to a lesson, do what you would do normally, if possible. Good luck - I am sure you will be fine. Now if you have any knowledge of service planning and performance management to help me - that would be good!!!
