So as I've just started having riding lessons again in preparation for getting a new (rideable) horse next year, I am going to be on the hunt for some riding boots when I go to Your Horse Live.
At the moment I'm riding in my Toggi country boots which aren't ideal, and id like to have some boots just for riding in.
I like the look of the Mountain Horse ones (high riders?) but have noticed Toggi do some that are very similar.
At the moment im having a half hour lesson once a week, but like I said I will be looking to get a new horse next year and riding 3-4 times a week at least.

Any experiences with either of those boots or any other reccommendations welcome! Looking to spend around the £100 mark.

I ride in my toggi calgarys and find them extremely comfy and very supportive on my ankles (I find riding In Short boots and chaps my ankles ache).

I love my Mountain Horse Classic boots (the short lace up ones) mine have been used for regular riding for over 10 years and I will be buying new ones this winter.

i had a pair of Mountain Horse high riders and i found them really high to the point where they pinched and made my left knee hurt,(i am 5.6) they are also quite heavy, i began a search for not too high comfy but sturdy boots and i made it my mission for a week! god was i boring but finally found the perfect pair for me. Kanyon Gorse X riders. i absolutely love them, found mine on e-bay cheaper but spoke to Kanyon first to get the run down on them. they are not too high, true to size and like wearing slippers they are so comfy , i do mainly hacking and endurance style riding in France and my feet and ankles stay happy and supported. It's true that they will not look so good for long as they are like a neubuck leather and not polishable but i don't care!! good grip too but if you have big calves you may need the wide fit

Shires Norfolk leather long boots are my fave- easy to keep clean and comfy (once broken in!) good quality leather as well. Around £120 I think but I could be wrong.
