Dear All,

I'm new to the forum and pretty new to riding, have had about 6 lessons, at the moment just riding in trainers and jeans. not the most comfortable. I'm looking to invest in a pair of boots, although want a pair that I can just wear out and about as well as more of a social rider at the mo! Have had a look online but m still pretty ignorant in what they are actual like. Am looking to spend up to about £80-£90, is there any boots that someone can recommend that would be good for both riding and general wear?

Cheers,

Greg

Brace yourself Greg, there are "ladies" (I use the term loosely ;)) here who get very excited at the mention of men in riding gear! :D The last chap to come on asking about clothing advice (jodhpurs in his case) is rumoured to still be in hiding after the stampede to "help" him. :D:D

Welcome to the forum! :):)

my other half wears lace up mountain horse boots which look like hiking boots and can be used for doing general chores around the place. you will need to wear chaps as well. welcome.

I recommend Ariat's Telluride h20 boots; I'm not a bloke but they make men's versions. They are so comfy, great for walking and look more like trainers/hiking boots. You would probably need half chaps with them but you can get Dublin or Shires ones pretty reasonably.

PMSL :D

In seriousness, I currently have some mark todd long boots which are the thermal ones, very cosy. I also own a pair of shires long leather boots which I love, but the zip is broken, must finally fix them this year! Both under your budget
