Riding Clothes/Shoes

Hey y'all,

I'm brand new to the world of riding so am hoping someone can help me out here. I need to get a pair of jodhpurs but don't know what size to get. I wear a 29" waist size and a US 6 (UK 10) in trousers. I've browsed a few online sites for boots and jods but don't know if there's one you recommend. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be most greatful!

hi there, i would say www.robinsons-uk.com, www.rideaway.co.uk, www.equestrianclearance.com, these are all very good. Most of the jods are done by waist size so you should be able to find some that fit. Hope this helps Samxx

Best bet would be to go to you nearest (preferably large!) tack shop and try on loads to see what styles and sizes suit you (they vary considerably between brands!). Also, as long as you don't plan on competing yet, I'd stick to dark coloured jodpurs - white ones are an absolute stain magnet!

Might as well add that I'm a UK size 8 and tend to wear size 26 jods.

Yes many manufactures seem to class a 24" as an 8 and a 28" as a 12 or even 14!

Im a size 10 and am always a 28" , so I would suggest trying some jods on before ordering
