Hi! I'm extremely confused and I was wondering if someone could help me.
I am part of a riding club, and I was looking recently at the riding club national champs, which I understand you go to areas qualifiers in order to qualify for. (Am i correct so far?) my riding club mentions nothing on the topic of area qualifiers - can I just enter the qualifier on my own under my area without doing it through my riding club? I mean, as part of my riding club but not through them organising it as this doesn't seem to be happening? I hope this makes some sort of sense. I'm new to competing and lack knowledge, sorry if this is very stupid. Thank you so much. X

Just for info as well. A riding club needs to be BRC affiliated to be eligible to put competitors forward for an area qualifier. The country is split into areas, area 1 etc, in which clubs fall into. Each area will run a qualifier for a BRC championships (either run by a club or by an area committee). Clubs then have to declare how many teams/individuals (and what class) they are entering to BRC and pay a prelim fee (21 days before the qualifier). They then enter teams/individuals to the entry secretary of the qualifier. On the day a club has to declare their entries before the start of the class.

To qualify you need to be in the winning team or the highest placed individual not part of the winning team. If entries are large more teams/individuals can qualify.

Hope that helps :)
