Hello I am interested in joining a riding club but there are some things I would like to know.

How do I join a riding club and how do I find a local one to me?

and what are the benefits of joining a riding club?

thanks in advance :)

you could use the British Riding Clubs website:
https://www.bhs.org.uk/Riding/British_Riding_Clubs/Find_a_Riding_Club.aspx
Click on your local area and it will give you a list of riding clubs local to you, some have direct links through to their websites.

Usually as a member you get discounted entry to riding club events, you also get the opportunity to compete on the teams (if competing is your thing)
and with my riding club we do social, non-horsey things so you ge tto make lots of new friends!

Best way to find one is look in your local tack shop, buysell or on a local equestrian website.

Riding clubs are the first rung on the ladder for competing. Most offer training opportunities and clinics etc. They are usually very supportive and everyone is willing to help you out ( at least they are near me) Some also offer chances to join join teams and ride at a higher level etc.

Would recommend joining one as its an easy way to meet people and get advice and opportunities to do things you may never have even considered doing before :)

Ha ha der i never thought of the BRC site! Silly me!!

have a look on the internet. I found a riding club and joined. I wanted to join to do more with my horse. I have attended various events with the horse and socially & have really enjoyed it. Have just won the challange trophy for most improved dressage this year. Well chuffed.
